What happens when the trend is over?

Discuss
There are some things that are staring us in the face so blatantly that it is easy to forget them. There are about to be a lot more elderly people than there has been in the past. I often ask my self why I’m not investing thousands of dollars in the medical services and medical device companies. I soon remind my self that the reason is that I don’t have thousands of dollars.

Attempted humor aside, this is a huge trend and, barring a medical miracle in the next 10 years, it is going to happen. A lot of people are going to make a lot of money. But what happens when the trend is over? How do we manage for a boom when we know the bust is coming? I’d love to hear some ideas on how to do that. Post them in the comments.
