ESPN Motion and Video On Demand

I need to do some more research into exactly what is going on, but it looks like ESPN is making its first attempt at a real video on demand feature. ESPN Motion isn't anything new. I think I've been using it for about 6 months now. I have a small application running on my computer that regularly downloads high-quality sports highlights. It is a great feature if you missed the game. First it was just highlights, then they added commercials that you could skip, and now the commercials are required.

Today they put up a human interest story. The story is interesting, but the fact that they did it is even more interesting. If you go to espn.com, download motion, and then explore the story, you will find 6 segments about Brad Hurtig and his battle to play sports without both hands. Before each you have to watch a commercial. It will be interesting to see how often they have features like this one.
